Shah Rukh Khan as an Avenger?

Shah Rukh Khan in a superhero suit is a dream come true for fans. While he already brought a unique superhero to life in the film Ra.One, imagine him joining the ranks of the mighty Avengers! Marvel Studios' next major release, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to hit theaters in 2025, marking their first film of the year. Anthony Mackie steps into the role of Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, and it’s his recent comment that has sent Shah Rukh Khan fans into a frenzy.

During an interview with influencer Kevin Zingkhai, Mackie was asked which Bollywood star he would like to recruit as the newest Avenger. Without hesitation, he replied, "Shah Rukh Khan, he’s the damn best!" This statement instantly sparked excitement among fans, who began envisioning King Khan as part of the iconic superhero team. But will Shah Rukh Khan actually take on a Hollywood project?

In a 2024 interview with Variety, Shah Rukh Khan explained why he hasn’t ventured into Hollywood yet. He revealed that he hasn’t received an offer or role that aligns with his superstar status in India. He said, "Hollywood is the world's greatest and biggest cinema in terms of reach and audience. I don't think I'm in a position to set conditions, but yes, when the right opportunity comes along — I hope I can speak English well enough. And, without sounding uppity, the role should be worthy of the status the Indian audience has given me. It shouldn’t let them down." Khan also shared that he doesn’t have an agent and hasn’t actively pursued roles in Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next project, King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film also stars his daughter Suhana Khan, alongside Abhay Verma and Abhishek Bachchan. Additionally, he is rumored to make a cameo appearance in his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.

As for Captain America: Brave New World, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will face off against Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk. The film also features a stellar cast, including Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, and Liv Tyler. With Shah Rukh Khan’s global appeal and Anthony Mackie’s endorsement, the idea of King Khan joining the Avengers universe has left fans eagerly dreaming of what could be.
