BGB operation in Teknaf recovers 3 kg of ice, two citizens of Myanmar arrested

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 3 kg 100 grams of crystal meth ice during a search operation at Noakhali para temporary check post in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. Two Myanmar nationals involved have been arrested. The arrested are Md Alam (19) son of Iman Hossain of Munnipara village of Mongdu police station in Myanmar and Md Ayash (21) son of Noor Mohammad of the same area. Teknaf 2BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, (BGBMS) confirmed this information to the media.
He said, on Thursday (May 30) based on secret information, the responsible marine drive road of Teknaf 2BGB battalion may be used for drug smuggling. Based on such information, an anti-smuggling patrol of Teknaf Battalion set up a temporary check post at a place called Noakhalipara along the Marine Drive road and started searching the vehicles. After some time, a CNG from Shahparidwip to Hazampara came near the check post and was stopped for investigation. Later, during the said CNGT search, the behavior of two passengers behind the CNG was suspicious and as the suspect matched the previously received description, 3 kg 100 g of crystal meth ice was recovered from the bag in their hands on the basis of a thorough search and interrogation by the soldier on duty at the check post. He also said that the process of handing over the arrested accused to Teknaf Model Police Station through regular cases along with the seized crystal meth ice is in process.
