The sound of gunfire again at the border of Naikshyongchari
Daily Bijoy News Naikshyongchari (Bandarban) Correspondent:
The sound of gunfire has been heard again in Cherarmat and Nikukhari in Bangladesh-Myanmar border area. On Tuesday (June 4) afternoon in Cherarmath and earlier on Monday from 9:20 pm to 10:30 pm, around 25 rounds of firing were heard intermittently through Border Pillar 42 and 43 areas. Mohammad Yunus and Ali Ahmad of Cherarmath said that the rebels have been occupying the border point in Cherarmath for a long time. Before this, there were the armed fighters of the BGP of the junta government. In June last year, the rebel Arkan Army seized the Puranmaizza base in Rakhine, opposite Cherarmath, in a guerilla attack. In this way, all the bases on the border have been captured by the Arkan Army.
From then on, the junta forces made a 2-1 misfire at dusk. They think that the incident of Tuesday afternoon is also part of it. Another source claimed that after losing bases along the Bangladesh border, the junta government is once again gathering strength to push back the insurgents and retake their border posts. As part of that plan, the Junta Bahini is planning to send Rohingya Muslim youths from Rohingya camps and Myanmar into the field with special training. This fear is now among the rebel Arkan Army. So they fire occasionally. Mohammad Chhaidur Rahman of Jamchari area said that no gunshots or landmine explosions have come from Myanmar in the past one month through border pillar 46/47 area. The current situation in this border area is very calm.
Nurul Abshar, chairman of Naikshyongchari Union Parishad, said that the border situation is absolutely calm. However, the Arakan Army sometimes fired to make their position known. It is to be noted that at present, mortar shells and shells are not heard from pillar 34 of Ghumdhum under the jurisdiction of Naikshyongchari upazila to pillar No. 55 of Taguchhra of Dauchhari union. According to sources, at present Bangladesh-Myanmar border area is almost part of Myanmar The armed rebel group is fully under the control of the Arkan Army. Since there is no opponent in their area, the sound of ammunition explosion is not heard as much as before. But suddenly, the sound of gunfire around the 44 pillars of the border, people think that the rebel Arkan Army is firing these empty bullets all over the border in fear of the Junta forces.
