On Tuesday, Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Vikentyevich Mantytskiy met with the interim government Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, to discuss issues of mutual interest. The meeting, held at the state guesthouse Jamuna, was also attended by Adviser Ali Imam Majumder and Principal Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Affairs, Lamiya Morshed.
Earlier, Russia had congratulated Professor Yunus on his appointment as Chief Adviser and reaffirmed its commitment to constructive cooperation at the governmental level. The focus will be on strengthening trade and economic ties, as well as scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian interactions between the two nations.
"This fully aligns with the interests of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of Bangladesh," stated Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Prime Minister, in a congratulatory message to Professor Yunus. He emphasized that relations between Bangladesh and Russia have been developing in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect, according to the Russian Embassy in Dhaka.
