Naked body of a businessman recovered in Manohardi

The naked body of a mobile phone businessman named Russel Mia (35) has been recovered in Manohardi, Narsingdi. Russel was the son of late Mainuddin from Bir Ahmadpur village in Khidirpur Union of the upazila. He was a mobile phone businessman at Chalakchar Bazar. On Sunday morning (February 16), the body was recovered from the house of neighboring Mofiz Muhuri. Since last night, Mofiz Muhuri's daughter Rita and her husband, truck driver Masum Mia, have been on the run.

Police said that locals informed them after seeing Russel's body lying behind Mofiz Muhuri's house. Upon receiving the information, the body was recovered and brought to the police station. It is suspected that he was killed by suffocation.

Russel's wife, Rozina Akter, said that he left home yesterday evening. They spoke on the phone around 10 PM, after which his phone was found switched off. When he did not return home even after midnight, they searched for him in several places. Around 7 AM, neighbors informed her after finding the naked body lying behind Mofiz Muhuri's house. "I suspect that he was killed in a planned manner. However, I cannot understand why they killed my husband. We have no enmity with anyone," she said.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manohardi Police Station, Abdul Jabbar, said that the body has been recovered and will be sent to the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder may be linked to an extramarital affair. Further legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
