Teknaf 2 BGB operation: 1 lakh 10 thousand Yaba pills seized, 1 arrested

In an operation by Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB), 1,10,000 (one lakh ten thousand) Yaba tablets were recovered, and one person was arrested.
Based on intelligence, on the night of May 3, a coordinated operation was planned in the area under Sabrang BOP. Following the strategy, special naval patrols were deployed at several strategic points in the designated area.
Later, at midnight, the battalion's surveillance team observed suspicious movement of a boat in the Myanmar part of the Naf River. Nearby naval patrols were immediately mobilized to conduct a raid. Following the instructions of the patrol commander, the BGB team chased the suspicious Myanmar vessel near BRM-4 to BRM-5, but the boat retreated deeper into Myanmar's waters.
During this time, two drug smugglers swimming in the Naf River were spotted. In a coordinated effort by BGB naval patrols, one suspect was arrested with 1,10,000 Yaba tablets, specially packaged.
The arrested individual was identified as Kamal Hossain (42), son of late Abdul Amin, from Sudapara Delpara, Post-Mongdu, Thana-Mongdu, District-Akyab, Myanmar.
Currently, the detained suspect and the seized narcotics are being processed for handover to Teknaf Model Police Station following legal procedures, confirmed Lieutenant Colonel Ashiqur Rahman, PSC, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-2.
