National Co-operative Day has been celebrated in Burichong Upazila of Cumilla, like across the country, centering on the theme "With equity and equality, co-operatives will build the country." On this occasion, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was organized on Saturday (November 1) at 11 AM, under the initiative of the Burichong Upazila Administration and the Co-operative Department.

The rally commenced from the Upazila Parishad premises, traversed the main roads, and concluded with a discussion meeting held at the training hall room of the Upazila Agriculture Office. The chief guest at the discussion meeting was Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tanvir Hossain. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Upazila BRDB, Md. Kabir Hossain Bhuiyan, and conducted by the Chief Executive of Alo Sanchoy O Rindan Samabay Samity, Ashish Chandra.

Special guests present included Upazila Co-operative Officer Md. Mir Hossain and Upazila BRDB Officer Md. Russel Sarwar. Others who spoke included Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Md. Atikur Rahman, Livestock Officer Dr. Johnny Pal, Assistant Social Services Officer Abdul Mannan, Burichong Press Club President Kazi Khorshed Alam, and Assistant Co-operative Inspector Mahmuda Akter.

Also present at the event were former Upazila Co-operative Officer Shahidul Haque, Ansar-VDP Officer Azhar, President of the Bazar Business Association Md. Jahangir Alam, Co-President Md. Saiful Islam, Upazila Coordinator of the Gram Adalat Mosharraf Hossain, BNP Upazila Publicity Secretary Nazir Mahmud Bhuiyan Nasir, President of Agrani Dairy Co-operative Society Gias Uddin, co-operators Abul Bashar and Safiqur Rahman, among others.

Following the discussion, the guests highlighted the significance of National Co-operative Day and called upon everyone to work unitedly through co-operatives for the economic development of the country.
