Leaders and activists of BNP's associate organizations have held a press conference expressing their support for Dr. Ikramul Bari Tipu, a long-standing grassroots leader and popular personality, as the nomination aspirant for the Naoga-4 (Manda) constituency. At the press conference organized at Prasadpur Bazaar on Wednesday night (October 29), the speakers demanded that Dr. Tipu be given the party nomination with the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol for the upcoming National Parliament elections.

The speakers at the press conference said that for the past 32 years, Dr. Ikramul Bari Tipu has organized BNP and established it on a strong foundation. He is equally popular among grassroots leaders-activists, teachers, students, laborers, farmers, and the general public. Under his leadership, the Manda Upazila BNP remains united and active today.

Appealing to BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and the central nomination board, the speakers said that the opinions of the grassroots must be given the highest importance when awarding the party nomination. According to the declared nomination standards, Dr. Tipu is the most qualified and acceptable candidate for the Manda constituency.

Among those who spoke at the press conference were: Moazzem Haque Mukul, President of Manda Upazila Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal and former Joint Convener of Upazila BNP; Nur Baks Mandal, former Associate Organizing Secretary of Upazila BNP; Emdadul Haque, President of Manda Union BNP; Saidur Rahman Mollah, former Chairman of Kanshopara Union; Rafiqul Islam, former Chairman of Bhalain Union; Erfan Ali Mia, member of the Upazila BNP Advisory Council; Enamul Haque, member of Upazila BNP; Nurul Islam, Joint Convener of the Volunteer Dal; Waheedul Haque and Shafiqul Islam, Joint Conveners of Upazila Jubo Dal; JM Nazimuddin, President of Upazila Tanti Dal; Jahangir Alam Biddut, General Secretary of Upazila Sramik Dal; Talha Zubayer and Shamin Hossain, Joint Conveners of Upazila Volunteer Dal; and Helal Uddin Hillol, Joint Secretary of District Chhatra Dal, along with many others.

Also present were numerous party leaders, activists, and supporters including Abdul Mannan, Jewel, Tuhin, Ashraful Islam Suman, and Sajid. The speakers further said that although the Manda seat has been lost by BNP since 2008, the party's stronghold in this area remains intact. They claimed that Dr. Ikramul Bari Tipu, as a clean, educated, and publicly acceptable candidate, has already gained the trust of the grassroots. They also believe there is no alternative to him for reclaiming the Manda seat.
