5 arrested including Awami League and associate organization leaders and activists in Pirgacha.

Police have arrested a total of 8 people in a 'Devil Hunt' drive in Pirgacha, Rangpur, including 5 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its associate organizations, and 3 warrant-accused individuals. They were arrested on Friday night (December 19). The arrested accused were produced before the learned court on Saturday afternoon (December 20). The arrested individuals are:

Abdul Kuddus Bhuiya (72), Vice-President of Pirgacha Upazila Awami League. He is the son of Zahir Uddin from Pratipal village, Tumbulpur Union.

Kamruzzaman Palash (38), member of Ward No. 8, Parul Union Jubo League of the upazila. He is the son of Abdul Kalam from East Parul village of that union.

Mamunur Rashid (35), active member of Ward No. 9 Jubo League. He is the son of Majibur Rahman from Jagatpur village of that union.

Khorshed Alam alias Masud Rana (38), joint convener of the Chhatra League of the same union. He is the son of Amjad Hossain from Birahim village of that union.

Ashikur Rahman (39), General Secretary of Ward No. 8 Awami League of Tepamadhupur Union, Kaunia Upazila. He is the son of Amirul Islam from Jigabari (Doctor's Mor) village.
Pirgacha Thana SI Shafiqul Islam Akand informed that after completing legal proceedings against the arrested accused, they have been produced in court.
