India's Lok Sabha Elections: Voting is in the final phase

Voting for the seventh and final phase of India's Lok Sabha elections has begun. Voting began at 7 am on Saturday (June 1) in 57 Lok Sabha constituencies across eight states and Union Territories. It will continue till 6 pm. West Bengal has 9 out of 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in this list. The total number of candidates in 57 constituencies in seven states and one union territory is 907. 13 constituencies of Punjab and 4 constituencies of Himachal are polling today.
The total number of voters in this phase is about 10 crore 6 lakh. Among them 5.24 crore male voters, 4.82 crore female voters. And there are 3 thousand 574 voters of the third gender. Voting will be done in EVM. 1.09 lakh polling stations have been opened across the country for voting in this phase. Several steps have been taken by the Election Commission to ensure free and peaceful voting.
In the last phase of polling, 13 seats each are in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, 9 in West Bengal, 8 in Bihar, six in Odisha, four in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand and one in Chandigarh. In this phase, the fate of 904 candidates across the country will be decided. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the top leaders of BJP.

(Kangra), BJP candidate actress Kangana Ranaut (Mandi), Trinamool Congress general Editor and Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee (Diamond Harbour), Tollywood actress Sayani Ghosh (Jadavpur), BJP's Rekha Patra (Sandeshkhali), Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal (Bhatinda).
