5 accused in the gang rape case were arrested after conducting raids in different areas in Naogaon

Police arrested 5 accused in Naogaon Manda gang rape case. Last Sunday (June 2) night, raids were conducted in different areas of Bishnupur Union of the upazila and they were arrested. The arrested persons were sent to Naogaon jail by the court on Monday. They are Abdur Rashid (37) and Lalon Chowdhury (36) of Paschim Durgapur village of Bishnupur union of Manda upazila, Nizam Uddin (30) of Nahla Kalupara village, Azizul Haque (28) and Prajhan Kumar (19) of Parshimala village. Earlier on Saturday (June 1), the co-accused in the case, Mamun (38), son of Sohrab Hossain of Dhanpara village of Raninagar upazila of Naogaon, was arrested and sent to jail. According to the source of the case, Mamun, the co-accused in the case, met the victim through mobile phone a year ago. He used to visit the rented house of degree college area of ​​Mamun's Naogaon town from time to time. On this occasion, on June 1, Mamun called him to Naogaon town on his mobile phone. After that, around 7 pm, he was taken on a motorcycle near the bridge in West Durgapur village field of Bishnupur union of Manda upazila. The victim and the plaintiff in the case said, 'It was 10:30 at night. Meanwhile, Mamun called a person there on the mobile phone. After that four more persons appeared there. Later, after showing fear and dragging me, they took me to a nearby padkhe and raped 6 people in turn. At that time, when the people around came forward shouting, the accused ran away with my smartphone and 7 thousand taka. In this regard, Manda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque Kazi said that the victim filed a case against 6 people in the case of gang rape. Later, all the accused in the case were arrested and sent to jail, while the police recovered the mobile phone of the victim from the house of accused Nizam Uddin.
