The first ten days of the holy month of Ramadan are of mercy! - Hafiz Masum Ahmad Dudhratchi.
Daily Bijoy News Special Correspondent:
The blessed month of Ramadan has been divided into three parts. The first 10 days are of mercy. During this time, Allah's infinite mercy is showered upon us. Our entire existence is filled with Allah's mercy. Without mercy, we cannot survive even for a moment. However, during the first ten days of Ramadan, the flow of mercy becomes even more intense. Soaked in this mercy, the faithful servants can attain lofty positions in the hereafter. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The month of Ramadan has come to you. It is a month full of blessings. The fasting during this month has been made obligatory for you by Allah. During this month, the gates of mercy are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the major devils are chained. In this month, there is a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of the blessings of this night is truly deprived of everything."
In the blessed and auspicious month of Ramadan, one can become a recipient of Allah's mercy by reciting the Holy Quran abundantly, engaging in the remembrance of Allah, offering prayers and salutations, seeking forgiveness, and making supplications. Every moment of Ramadan is filled with Allah's special mercy. Through fasting, the faithful servants can spiritually elevate themselves. Therefore, Allah opens the doors of His mercy for the fasting believers during this holy month. Whatever a fasting person asks from Allah during Ramadan, Allah will grant it. The one who asks from Allah pleases Him, while the one who does not ask displeases Him. One should never hesitate to ask from Allah.
We are all in need of Allah's mercy. Every moment of our lives requires His mercy. Without Allah's mercy, destruction is inevitable. Those who have succeeded in this world have all been recipients of Allah's grace and mercy. Ramadan provides us with a unique opportunity to attain Allah's mercy. During these ten days, we can draw closer to Allah by engaging in repentance, seeking forgiveness, and making supplications. The faster we move towards Allah, the faster Allah will come towards us, a hundred times more. Allah's mercy is like this. Those who can please Allah through servitude will have His mercy accompany them in this world and the hereafter. And if someone gets the opportunity to be soaked in the showers of Allah's mercy, there is no greater fortune than this. Those who fail to take advantage of this golden opportunity during Ramadan are truly unfortunate. Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) have expressed regret over their misfortune.
There is a hadith that states, "The one who does not have his sins forgiven during Ramadan is truly unfortunate." Many of us spend the days of Ramadan in negligence and later regret it. Such regret yields no benefit. Ramadan has just begun. We must start striving to attain Allah's pleasure from now on. Let our Ramadan begin with the resolve to observe the fast with sincerity and fulfill its rights. This way, we will not have to regret later, and we will not be among the unfortunate ones. May all the children of Adam around the world attain guidance during Ramadan and embrace faith and Islam. May the entire Muslim Ummah purify their lives during Ramadan and attain happiness and prosperity in both this world and the hereafter. Ameen.
