Guidelines Issued on Fish Farming and Pond Enclosure Construction in Keshabpur

Guidelines have been issued in Keshabpur regarding fish farming, pond enclosure construction, and compliance with policy regulations. Keshabpur Upazila Executive Officer Rekhasana Begam visited fish farms and pond enclosures on-site and instructed stakeholders to follow the policy guidelines.

On Tuesday (May 6, 2025), she inspected various ponds in Keshabpur Sadar Union and directed pond owners to adhere to the "Pond Establishment Guidelines, 2019" for the Bhabadah area when setting up fish enclosures. Additionally, she instructed that no one should use shallow machines or any other irrigation equipment to extract water from underground sources for fish ponds during the dry season.

During the inspection, the Upazila Fisheries Officer, Chairman of Keshabpur Sadar Union, ward members, and village police were present. All pond owners have been urged to properly comply with the guidelines for establishing fish enclosures. The Executive Officer warned that legal action would be taken if fish farming and pond enclosures are not constructed following the proper policies.
