Motorcycle mechanic Sohail Rana killed after being run over by Hanif Transport bus in Naogaon

A motorcycle mechanic named Sohail Rana was killed after being run over by a bus of Hanif Transport at the Baludanga bus stand in Naogaon city. Following the incident, the killer bus was seized by the police. The accident occurred on Sunday (May 18) around 6:30 PM in front of Najipur Hotel & Restaurant, near the judge's court, beside the Baludanga bus stand.
The deceased, Sohail Rana, was a resident of Dubalhati area in Naogaon Sadar upazila. According to local sources, Sohail Rana owned a motorcycle repair shop in front of the District Council gate in Naogaon city. After repairing a motorcycle, he was riding it towards the Baludanga bus stand, about half a kilometer away. While attempting to make a U-turn in front of Najipur Hotel & Restaurant, a bus of Hanif Transport—coming at high speed from about 400 feet away—hit him. He was crushed under the front wheel of the bus and died on the spot.
After the accident, the bus was left at the nearby Balaka Traders petrol pump, and the driver fled. Later, the police recovered the body. OC (Investigation) Khorshed Alam of Naogaon Sadar Police Station confirmed the incident, stating that upon receiving the news, the body was recovered and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The killer bus and the damaged motorcycle were seized and brought to the police station. After completing legal procedures, the body will be handed over to the family.
