On Tuesday, December 30, in the morning, the Upazila Day celebration was held in Baliakandi Upazila of Rajbari, under the initiative of the Somriddhi (Prosperity) Program. The program is implemented by Palli Progoti Sahayak Samity (POPSS) with the support of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).

The event, organized at the upazila level, emphasized improving the living standards of rural communities, socioeconomic progress, and empowering marginalized people. As part of the program, various awards and support materials were distributed among the beneficiaries of the Somriddhi Program.

The chief guest at the event was Md. Jamal Sardar, Assistant Credit Manager of Palli Progoti Sahayak Samity (POPSS). Special guests who spoke included Nripen Bala, Area Manager of POPSS; Mirza Yaqub Harun, Upazila Program Coordinator; and Ruhol Amin, Assistant Program Coordinator. Also present was Sohail Khan, Joint General Secretary of the Upazila Reporters Club. The entire event was hosted by Syed Enamul Hachan, Health Officer of the Somriddhi Program.

Speakers at the event said that the Somriddhi Program plays an important role in strengthening the rural economy, empowering women, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable development. They also remarked that such initiatives will help achieve sustainable development goals.

In the final segment, the guests handed over various items to the beneficiaries and exchanged views with them. Overall, the event was festive, lively, and successful.
