"Mother beaten to death for not giving money for drugs"

A heartless son brutally beat his own mother to death after failing to get money for drugs. The incident occurred late at night on Saturday, May 3rd, in Bailab village under Shibpur Upazila.

According to police and family sources, Jaber Hossain (28), the drug-addicted son of the late Noorul Haque Master from the same village, regularly tortured his mother for money to buy drugs. On the night of the incident, he demanded money from his mother, Shamsunnahar, to buy drugs. When Shamsunnahar expressed her inability to give him money, the ruthless son mercilessly beat her, leading to her death on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, police from Shibpur Model Police Station recovered the victim's body, prepared an inquest report, and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police arrested the killer, Jaber Hossain, on charges of involvement in the incident.

Regarding the incident, Mohammad Afzal Hossain, the acting officer-in-charge of Shibpur Model Police Station, stated that the murderer confessed to tying his mother to the door handle and beating her to death. He also informed the police that Jaber Hossain was under the influence of drugs at the time. Legal action will be taken against him once the complaint is filed.
