Israel's main airport temporarily closed after missile attack from Yemen
Daily Bijoy News Special Correspondent:
Flight operations at a major Israeli airport were temporarily suspended due to a missile launched from Yemen. The airport was closed last Sunday. The Israeli military reported that they successfully intercepted a missile fired from Yemen. Meanwhile, warning sirens were activated across central Israel following the missile launch. According to the Israeli army and local news Channel 12, another missile was attempted to be fired from Yemen toward Israel, but it failed.
It is noteworthy that Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have been targeting Israel with missile attacks in protest against Israeli strikes in Gaza and in solidarity with Palestinians. Earlier this month, a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis hit near Ben Gurion International Airport, damaging a road and a vehicle at the airport and suspending flight operations for several hours.
