A former UP member has been accused of vandalizing his sister's residence at Badalgachi in Naogaon. According to the complaint, Suraiya Begum (42), daughter of the deceased Giyas Uddin Sonar of Kola UP village of Kola UP in Badalgachi upazila, lived with her husband and children for a long time. Suraiya's brother former member Saiful Islam throws his sister out of the house. Later Suraiya was living in different places on rent. A few months ago Suraiya claimed her share of her father's property. Suraiya's brother Saiful refused to give his sister's share of the land. The locals gave two hundred pieces of land to Suraiya through village arbitration involving both parties. Suraiya built a homestead on that land as a homestead.
On May 20th at 2 pm, former members Saiful and Tushar Hossain suddenly attacked Suraiya's homestead and vandalized it and tried to evict it. Meanwhile, the defendants threatened to kill Suraiya's husband Arefin and her family members. Since the incident, housewife Suraiya has alleged that she is suffering from insecurity with her family members.
Locals Bhuttu, Dulal, Hasan, Shariful and many others said that Suraiya will get a share of her father's property as a daughter. Because his brother Saiful did not give his sister's share of land, the two brothers and sisters had a dispute. Former member Saiful also attacked and vandalized his nephew Tushar Suraiya's homestead due to a dispute over reserved land.
Plaintiff Suraiya said that my brother Saiful and nephew Tushar suddenly attacked my homestead and vandalized several things. Threatened with eviction and death. Defendant Saiful Islam said, I did not attack or vandalize my sister's house. They filed a false complaint against me in the police station.
