Chakshu Election: Burichang's Faisal is a candidate for the AGS post - Pledges to build a student-friendly campus
Daily Bijoy News, Comilla Correspondent:
After a long 36 years, the Central Student Union (Chakshu) and Hall Union elections are set to be held at the University of Chittagong. A festive atmosphere is prevailing across the entire campus surrounding this election scheduled for October 15, 2025. Students are excited with the expectation of new leadership and democratic practice. In this election, Faisal Ahmed, son of Nabiabad village in Rajapur Union of Burichang Upazila, Comilla, is contesting as an independent candidate for the post of Assistant General Secretary (AGS). He is currently studying in the Law Department at the University of Chittagong. Faisal Ahmed has entered the field with a commitment to work for education, research, and the welfare of students. He has already received a positive response from students during his election campaign.
Faisal Ahmed said, "I believe in transparent, accountable, and student-friendly politics. My main goal is to ensure students' rights, justice, and a safe and free environment on campus. I believe that through the Chakshu election, the voice of the students will be established more strongly. I seek everyone's love, support, and prayers."
Faisal further stated that he wants Chakshu to work as the true representative of the students, not just as a formal organ of the administration. This is the first full-fledged Chakshu election at the University of Chittagong since 1989. This electoral process has begun anew, ending the long wait through the student-public uprising of 2024. Students hope that this election will foster a new generation of leadership who will play an effective role in the development of the campus and the welfare of students. Young, idealistic, and proactive candidates like Faisal are participating in this year's Chakshu election, which has instilled new hope in the university arena.
