Daily Bijoy News Pabiprobi Correspondent:
The tent handover ceremony for the Rover Scout branch of Pabna University of Science and Technology (Pabiprobi) was held. The event took place at the Rover Scout's Green Room in the Examination Hall of the university from 11 AM on Tuesday (October 14).
Presided over by Dr. Jinnat Rehana, Secretary of the Pabiprobi Rover Scout Group, the ceremony was graced by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Abdul Awal as the Chief Guest. Special guests in attendance included Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shameem Ahsan, member of the Ad-hoc Executive Committee and member of the Pabna Red Crescent Unit Md. Moniruzzaman Mun, and Unit Level Officer Mahmuda Munshi. Other guests present were Proctor Dr. Kamruzzaman Khan and the Director of the Student Advising Council Professor Dr. Md. Rashedul Islam, among others.
In his speech as the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. S. M. Abdul Awal said, "First of all, I want to say that the work you are doing is not just a duty, but a noble contribution to society. The way you stood in the sun performing your duties during the admission test is proof of your responsibility. The satisfaction gained from working for society cannot be bought with any amount of money. As Rover Scouts, you are the future of the country. You are the ones who step forward first during crises—this is what sets you apart. This experience will also be valuable for your future careers. In higher education or employment, this social work of yours will be considered a major positive aspect. I hope you will continue to perform your duties with the same dedication for the development and security of the university in the future. This university is our pride—its success is your success."
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam said, "Our students are very interactive. So their demand has been fulfilled with the assistance of the Pabna Red Crescent. We merely sent them a letter, but they came forward on their own to assist. We are truly grateful for the way the Rovers assist in every program of our university. We call upon the Rover team first because we believe—you will do well in all areas. You are learning discipline, which will help you build a stronger foundation in the future."
It is noted that a projector was presented to the Rover Scout unit during the event, and Dr. Jinnat Rehana concluded the ceremony with her presidential remarks.
