A protest rally and march were held in Dinajpur demanding a 5-point charter for the trial of the massacre committed by Awami League on October 28, 2006.

On the occasion of the October 28 rampage by the Awami hyenas and the historic Paltan Tragedy Day, a protest march was organized by the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dinajpur City and Sadar branches, which paraded through the main roads of the city. Principal Anisur Rahman was the chief guest and delivered a speech at the protest march and rally. Presided over by Maulana Sirajus Salehin, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Dinajpur City Branch, speeches were also given by, among others, Advocate Moinul Alam, the Jamaat-nominated Member of Parliament candidate for Dinajpur Sadar-3 constituency. Maulana Mujibur Rahman, the Jamaat-nominated Chairman candidate for Dinajpur Sadar Upazila Parishad, Sirajus Salehin, Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Dinajpur City Branch, Md. Meherab Hossain, Ameer of Sadar Upazila Branch, and others.
The demands are:

Issue the necessary constitutional order to implement the July National Charter and hold a public referendum on that order by next November.

Introduce the Proportional Representation (PR) system in both houses/the upper house in the upcoming national election.

Ensure a level playing field for all to ensure a free, fair, and acceptable election.

Ensure visible justice for all the oppression, tyranny, genocide, and corruption of the fascist government.

Ban the activities of the National Party and the 14-party alliance, who are accomplices of the autocrat.
