An attack on police has occurred in Pangsha, Rajbari. Two police members and one local person were injured in this incident. The incident took place around 4:30 PM on Wednesday (November 5) in the Patta Bilpara area of the upazila. Police were able to arrest a person named Alam Sheikh from the scene.

According to police sources, a team including SI (Unarmed) Md. Nazrul Islam, SI (Unarmed) Obaidur Rahman, ASI (Unarmed) Paritosh Majumdar, Constable Humayun Kabir, and Atoar Rahman went on an operation to arrest accused in a case of extortion and assault. When they reached near the Patta Bilpara Government Primary School, approximately 10-12 accused, including Sobuj (30), Sajib (25), and Centu (26), who were lying in wait, opened fire targeting the police. They also threw cocktail-type explosives and bricks/bricks. A local person named Akul (55) was injured by the criminals' bullets.

At that time, locals tried to resist the criminals with the help of the police. During the attack, SI Nazrul Islam and Constable Atoar Rahman were injured by brick hits. Later, accused Alam Sheikh injured SI Nazrul Islam by kicking and punching him. However, through police efforts, Alam Sheikh was arrested from the scene, but the other accused fled.

After the incident, additional police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Currently, the law and order situation in the area is normal, and police patrols have been intensified. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pangsha Model Thana, Mohammad Salauddin, said that legal action regarding this incident is underway.
