On the occasion of Armed Forces Day, a discussion meeting, prayer session, and feast were organized in Keshabpur, Jessore. On Friday (21st November), after Jumu'ah prayers, a prayer session and feast were held at the hall room of the Freedom Fighter Complex in the municipal town, organized by the Keshabpur Retired Army Welfare Association. The discussion meeting was presided over by Keshabpur Retired Army Welfare Association President, Freedom Fighter Fazlur Rahman, and moderated by the association's General Secretary, Mostafizur Rahman Mintu. Speakers at the discussion included Keshabpur Retired Army Welfare Association Advisor, Master Warrant Officer Mohammad Kamruzzaman, and Advisor, Dr. Habibur Rahman.

The speakers said, in the history of Bangladesh, November 21, 1971, is such a day – a day that is called a symbol of honor, courage, and national defense. On this day, the army, navy, and air force of Bangladesh jointly initiated an attack against the Pakistani forces in the Liberation War. Fighting together that day brought the Liberation War even closer to victory. Later, on December 16, 1971, approximately ninety-three thousand soldiers of the Pakistani invading forces formally surrendered at the Race Course Maidan to the allied forces comprised of Bangladeshi and Indian soldiers. This surrender marked the conclusion of Bangladesh's War of Independence, and Bangladesh was able to stand tall as an independent, sovereign nation on the world map.

After the discussion, prayers and a special munajat were offered seeking forgiveness for the souls of all the brave martyrs of the Liberation War. The prayer session was conducted by the Religious Affairs Secretary of the Keshabpur Retired Army Welfare Association, Corporal Mohammad Rafiqul Islam. Finally, the respected President of the Keshabpur Retired Army Welfare Association, Freedom Fighter Fazlur Rahman, wished for the good health and long life of all present.

Those present at the time included Keshabpur Retired Army Welfare Association Vice President Warrant Officer Rabul Islam, Assistant General Secretary Sergeant Anisur Rahman, Organizational Secretary Corporal Rezaul Islam, Assistant Organizational Secretary Sergeant Mahbubur Rahman, Legal Affairs Secretary Sergeant Abdul Momin, Assistant Legal Affairs Sergeant Rustam Ali, Office Secretary Sergeant Masud, Publicity Secretary Sergeant Shaukat Ali, Assistant Publicity Secretary Sergeant Jahangir Kabir Mintu, Assistant Religious Affairs Secretary Sergeant Shahinur Rahman, Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary Sergeant Abdul Jalil, Relief Affairs Secretary Sergeant Rezaul Islam, members Sergeant Mahabur Rahman, Sergeant Mijanur Rahman, Corporal Jalal, Corporal Abu Kasem, Sergeant Subash Chandra Mondol, Sergeant Mijan, Sergeant Rezaul, Surgeon Shamsur Rahman, Sergeant Shafiqul Islam, Sergeant Shariful Islam, along with leaders from various levels of the association. Attendees commented that the feast further strengthened their bonds with one another.
