"Hold the election without delay; the elected government will carry out the necessary reforms," said Mohammad Gias Uddin Kader Chowdhury.
Daily Bijoy News, Shibpur, Narsingdi Correspondent:
Mohammad Gias Uddin Kader Chowdhury, Vice Chairman of the BNP Central Committee, stated that there can be no compromise on the voting rights of the country's people. Elections must be held without delay. The elected government will come to power and implement necessary reforms. In this regard, the necessary reforms will be based on the three fundamental principles of the late President Ziaur Rahman. Based on these three principles, Tarique Zia has outlined a roadmap for everything in his 31-point agenda. He made these remarks as the chief guest at a public meeting organized by the Narsingdi District BNP at the Narsingdi Municipal Eidgah Field on Saturday afternoon (22/02/2025).
The rally, presided over by Khairul Kabir Khokon, BNP's Central Joint Secretary General and District BNP Convener, addressed various public demands, including keeping commodity prices at a tolerable level, improving law and order, countering the conspiracies of defeated fascists, and announcing a swift election roadmap. Special guests at the rally included Kazi Saidul Alam Bablu, Organizing Secretary (Dhaka Division) of the Central Committee, Co-Organizing Secretary Benojir Ahmed Titu, Co-Organizing Secretary Nazrul Islam Azad, former MP Sardar Shakhawat Hossain Bakul, Central Leader Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Colonel (Retd.) Mohammad Zainul Abedin, District BNP Joint Convener Rokeya Ahmed Lucky, Abdul Baset Bhuiyan, Harun-Or-Rashid Harun, Akbar Hossain, Abu Saleh Chowdhury, Golam Kabir Kamal, Fayezur Rahman Chairman, Golam Kabir Kamal, Mohsin Hossain Bidyut, Siddiqur Rahman Nahid, and others.
The meeting, conducted by Narsingdi District BNP Member Secretary Alhaj Manzur Elahi, also heard Gias Uddin Kader Chowdhury say that reform is an ongoing process, and therefore, elections cannot be delayed by using reform as an excuse. If there is no democracy in the country, the movement of students and the public will become meaningless. This government has completely failed to control commodity prices. If prices rise during Ramadan, the general public will be outraged. The law and order situation in the country is now out of control. The government must work with greater caution to bring law and order under control. It must not be forgotten that on August 5, the BNP and all like-minded pro-democracy forces, along with students and the public, led a mass uprising.
