On Saturday morning, lawmaker Alhaj Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, the Member of Parliament for the Dinajpur-4 (Chirirbandar-Khansama) constituency, paid deep tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Language Movement by laying a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar in Chirirbandar Upazila. After offering his respects, he observed a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs and took part in a special prayer seeking the eternal peace of their souls.

Following the MP's tribute, the Chirirbandar Upazila Administration, Upazila Parishad, and Chirirbandar Thana Police laid wreaths in memory of the language martyrs. Tributes were also paid by Dashmile Highway Police, the Upazila Muktijoddha Command Council, various Union Parishad chairmen, and Fire Service and Civil Defense.

At the time, officials from various government departments, teachers and students of educational institutions, and people from all walks of life were present. The main program of International Mother Language Day in Chirirbandar was concluded through the solemn tribute to the language martyrs. The people of Chirirbandar observed the day with a pledge to uphold the dignity of their mother tongue, inspired by the spirit of Ekushey.
