An idol of Lakshi Narayan was recovered from Naogaon pond while excavating the soil

A so-called hard stone idol of Lakshmi Narayan was recovered from the filled area after excavating soil from a pond at Raninagar in Naogaon. On Sunday (May 19) morning, locals recovered the statue from Ratwal Bazar in the upazila and submitted it to the police station. Raninagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Obaid said that Khokon, son of Shukbar Ali of Ratwal village, dug soil from a pond in Mandal and filled a place in Ratwal market. The idol was found by the workers while breaking the ground and leveling the filled area on Saturday morning. After reporting to the police station, the statue was recovered from there and kept in the police station. he said The Lakshmi Narayan idol weighing 14 kg 700 grams will be submitted to the Directorate of Archeology through legal process. However, the price of the statue has not been determined, said the police officer.
