Teenager Nahmir Killed by Lightning Strike in Patnitala, Naogaon

A 15-year-old boy named Nahmir died after being struck by lightning in Patnitala, Naogaon. Nahmir was the son of Shafiqul Islam from Harpur village in the upazila. The incident occurred on Monday, May 5, near the Atrai River in the Boram area of Harpur under Patnitala Union.
According to local and family sources, Nahmir was tending to ducks at a mobile duck farm by the river when it started raining at noon. He was struck by lightning and died on the spot. In the same incident, the owner of the duck farm, Babu, was injured and is currently undergoing treatment at Patnitala Upazila Health Complex.
Mokhlesur Rahman, Ward No. 9 member of Patnitala Union Parishad, confirmed the death, stating, "He was at the duck farm by the river when lightning struck and killed him." Shah Md. Enayetur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patnitala Police Station, said, "We have heard about such an incident."
