On October 29, 2025, the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSIC), Dinajpur, organized a seminar titled "Impact on the Environment from the Use of Raw Materials or Emissions from Lightly Processed Industries and Pollution Control Activities." The Honorable Police Superintendent of Dinajpur District, Mr. Md. Marufat Hossain, was present as the Special Guest.

In his speech, the Police Superintendent said that environmental conservation is an extremely important issue alongside industrial development. If the waste or emissions generated during production activities in industrial establishments are not managed properly, it adversely affects the environment. He further stated that effective waste management, pollution control, and the use of environmentally friendly technology are essential for maintaining environmental balance.

A training workshop for jute growers on modern methods of jute and seed production has been held in Birampur, Dinajpur. The day-long training workshop, organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Jute under the project "Expanded Project for Improved Technology-Dependent Jute and Seed Production (2nd Revised)," was held at the Upazila Officers' Club on Wednesday (October 29) starting at 10:00 AM. 75 jute farmers were provided with training and inputs under this program.

The training workshop was inaugurated by Upazila Executive Officer Tanvir Ahmed and presided over by District Jute Development Officer Asim Kumar Malakar. The event was conducted by Upazila Sub-Assistant Jute Development Officer Tapan Kumar Roy. The trainers and discussants included District Training Officer Md. Shah Alam, Deputy Director of BADC Md. Mazharul Islam, and Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Shariful Islam. Furthermore, other staff of the Department of Jute and trainees from various unions and municipalities of the upazila were present.

Jute farmer Raj Kishore from Joyrampur village in Mohammadpur Union, Birampur Upazila, said, "If training workshops are held regularly, interest in jute cultivation will increase."
