The Zia Memorial Football Tournament 2025 was inaugurated in Thakurgaon.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inaugurated the Zia Memorial Football Tournament 2025 at the Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School ground in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila today, February 16 (Sunday), at 3 PM. The chief guest at the opening ceremony was Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the Honorable Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Special guests included Md. Aminul Haque, Convener of BNP Dhaka North Branch, Sports Secretary of BNP, and former Bangladeshi football player; Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary of BNP Thakurgaon District Branch; and Md. Farhad Hossain Azad, Rural and Cooperative Affairs Secretary of BNP. Also present at the opening ceremony were leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Youth Dal and Bangladesh Nationalist Students' Dal, as well as sports-loving spectators. The tournament was officially declared open with the release of balloons.
