Literary Event by "Shekher Sandhane" Held in Keshabpur

Since 1999, dedicated to human welfare—alongside "Shekher Sandhane" (In Search of Roots), a voluntary non-governmental development organization committed to serving humanity—a literary event titled "Our Role in Building a Civil Society and the Welfare of Distressed Humanity" was held. The program included a book unveiling, scholarship distribution, discussions, May Day observance, and an exchange of ideas.
On Saturday afternoon (May 3, 2025), the event took place at the PITA auditorium in Keshabpur Upazila town. Presided over by the organization's president, prominent teacher, and poet Md. Abdul Kader, the chief guest was veteran poet and novelist Mr. ADM Ratan. The welcome speech was delivered by the organization's founding director, Sheikh Mizanur Rahman Maya. The inauguration was conducted by Mr. AK Azad (Iktiar), chairman of the advisory council of "Shekher Sandhane."
The chief guest stated, "The primary condition for being a creative person is to sincerely value humanistic time and subject matter."
During the discussion session, poems, stories, and speeches were presented by retired Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer and poet Alhaj Ali Ahmad, poet Bakul Haque, cultural activist and Jashor’s general secretary poet MA Kashem Ami, National Press Society, media, and human rights organization Keshabpur Upazila branch president journalist Shamim Akhtar Mukul, senior journalist Poresh Chandra Deb Nath, poet Maniruzzaman, poet Md. Zakaria Hossain, poet Golam Mostafa, poet Abdul Hai Hadi, member poet Nur Hossain Badhon, and others.
At the event, strong condemnation and anger were expressed over the vandalism of the Mymensingh Sahitya Sangshad office. Recitation artist Sheikh Mizanur Rahman Maya performed a poem titled "Boisakh in the Lap of History" sent by poet Principal Rezaul Karim.
Later, a three-member delegation from the Bangladesh Environment Movement (BAPA) joined the program and discussed forming a committee, planning to establish a BAPA committee in Keshabpur. The delegates were:

Finally, the exchange of publications, sweet treats, floral greetings, and hospitality were among the key attractions of the event.
