Narail's Lohagara: OC Ashikur Rahman praised for arresting Ashraful with Yaba
Daily Bijoy News Narail District Correspondent:
Mohammad Ashraful Mollah (40), who had been running a thriving drug trade in Rajupur village of Lohagara Upazila in Narail, was arrested by the police with Yaba tablets.
Ujjal Roy, the district representative from Narail, reported that on Sunday (May 4) at 2:45 PM, Lohagara Thana police arrested him from the Dak Bungalow intersection in the upazila. Seventeen Yaba tablets were recovered from his possession.
Ashraful Mollah had been conducting his drug business for a long time from a rented house behind the Allah Dan Clinic in Rajupur, evading the eyes of the administration. Although he once drove a van, his lifestyle and financial condition suddenly changed. Locals allege that his expensive motorcycle, disguise with a helmet, and living in a flat in a building were all funded by his drug trade income.
Local sources say that while Ashraful Mollah operated his business by renting houses in different areas, he has now been identified by everyone. Aware youths in the area have announced that he will not be allowed to enter the locality.
Lohagara Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ashikur Rahman said, "Ashraful Mollah is a known drug dealer. He has been arrested with 17 Yaba tablets. A case under the Narcotics Control Act will be filed against him, and he will be sent to court."
