Farmer Commits Suicide Over Family Dispute in Keshabpur

A 55-year-old farmer named Akubbar Ali Sheikh committed suicide due to resentment toward his family. The incident occurred on Tuesday night (May 6) in Hasanpur village under Keshabpur upazila. He was the son of the late Azim Uddin Sheikh of the same village. An unnatural death case has been filed with the police station in connection with the incident.
According to police and family sources, Akubbar Ali Sheikh (55) had an argument with his wife, Shahana Begum, on Monday night over various family matters. Overcome with resentment, he secretly hanged himself from a branch of a blackberry tree near their house in Gutimari Beel (wetland) using a rope late that night. Family members later discovered the body and informed the police.
Upon receiving the news, police officials visited the scene. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain of Keshabpur Police Station stated, "An unnatural death case has been filed regarding the farmer's suicide by hanging. Since the family did not raise any complaints, the deceased's body has been handed over to his relatives."
