Teachers and staff of Aarag Anandapur Ideal High School in Burichang, Comilla, are observing a work abstention. According to school sources, this work abstention is being held to strongly condemn the police attack on the teachers and staff who were staging a sit-in at the National Press Club in Dhaka on October 12, 2025. It is worth mentioning that on that day, teachers and staff from all over the country were holding a sit-in program in front of the National Press Club demanding a 20% house rent, 1500 taka medical allowance, a 75% festival allowance for staff, and the cancellation of the 500 taka notification. At that time, the police attacked them. In protest and condemnation of this incident, the teachers and staff of Aarag Anandapur Ideal High School are observing a work abstention in solidarity.
