Retired Health Inspector Dies in Road Accident at Mangalkot in Keshabpur

A retired health inspector died in a road accident at the Mangalkot Bus Stand area in Keshabpur. Jitendra Nath Singha (78), a retired health inspector from Panchpota village, Mangalkot Union, was crossing the road from Mangalkot Bus Stand around 12:30 PM on Monday (October 13, 2025) when he was hit by a transport vehicle traveling from Dhaka to Satkhira. He was thrown from his personal motorcycle and his left leg was broken. He was quickly taken to Khulna City Medical Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He was cremated at the Panchpota crematorium that same night. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son. According to family sources, that night, members including Alhaj Abul Hossain Azad, a member of the BNP's National Executive Committee and President of the Upazila BNP, visited the grieving family's home to express their condolences. Furthermore, condolences from local people and acquaintances to the family continue. Area residents said that Jitendra Nath Singha was a distinguished gentleman and spent his retired life in religious activities.
