Lighting decoration and Diwali festival celebrated on the occasion of Shyama Puja in Baliakandi.

The Shyama Puja and Diwali festival of the Hindu community was celebrated in a joyous atmosphere at the Aputara Sarbajanin Matri Mandir premises in Baliakandi, Rajbari. As evening fell on Monday and Tuesday (October 21), markets, rural temples, homes, rivers, and ponds were illuminated with lights. Additionally, thousands of colorful lights flickered along the roads. This Diwali was held on the occasion of the Sri Sri Kali Puja festival. Under the presidency of Madhusudhan Roy, devotees observed the auspicious Diwali at the temple through the worship of Goddess Kali, incense, and lamps. There was festive excitement on the faces of everyone, from children and adolescents to the elderly. The five-day event at Aktopara included various programs such as Leela Kirtan, Panchamishali Panch Natak, the life story of Ganesh Pagol, boat race, Baul song, where Julkha Sarkar and Tuktuki Sarkar's boat 'Majhi' won first place, 'Mayer Ashirbad' won second place, and 'Sonar Tori' won third place. Present at this time were Jungle Union Chairman Babu Kallol Kumar Basu, Zafar Ali Mia, Magura Shripur's Shabdolpur Union BNP President Rabiul Alam Baker Babu, Swapan Kumar Mondal, retired teacher Gaur Chandra Bishwas, Madhusudan Mondal, and many others. The event was overall conducted by Suman Kumar Bishwas and his associates. The Matri Mandir, Kali Temple, Shibu Temple, and various neighborhoods were decorated with lights, featured firecrackers, and the tunes of religious music. On the occasion of Diwali, the message of harmony, brotherhood, and joy spread among the adherents of the Sanatan religion in the five upazilas of Rajbari.
