In a joint operation by the Coast Guard and Police in the Baharchhara area of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, 28 people, including women and children, who were preparing to travel by sea to be trafficked to Malaysia, have been rescued. Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq, the media officer of the Coast Guard, provided this information at 1:50 PM on Tuesday (November 25th). He stated that based on intelligence information, it was learned that traffickers had gathered several women, men, and children in the beach area near Kachchapia Ghat in Baharchhara, Teknaf. Based on this information, a joint team of the Coast Guard Outpost Baharchhara and Police conducted a raid at 1:00 AM on Tuesday and rescued 28 people.

Preliminary interrogation of the rescued individuals revealed that an organized human trafficking syndicate was planning to send Bangladeshi and Rohingya citizens to Malaysia by sea, luring them with promises of a better life and high-salaried jobs. The Coast Guard officer stated that during the raid, the traffickers sensed their presence and fled, so it was not possible to arrest anyone. He further said that the Coast Guard's surveillance and operations to arrest traffickers and prevent human trafficking are ongoing and will continue in the future.
