In Homna, Comilla, reports have emerged of two parties filing complaints with the police over a matter concerning a woman. Md. Shafiqul Islam, from Safleji village in Dulalpur Union, filed a complaint naming two individuals. On the other hand, Hasina Begum lodged a counter-complaint at Homna Police Station.

Regarding the matter, complainant Md. Shafiqul Islam stated, *"For a long time, Hasina Begum has been engaging in anti-social activities at her home. Around 10 PM on Saturday, I received secret information that such activities were taking place at her house. To verify the claim, I sent two people to check. They returned and informed me that they heard the voices of a man and a woman behind closed doors in the cowshed. Later, I went there with a few others and also heard the voices. Peeking through the door, I saw Hasina Begum and Golam Mostafa together inside a mosquito net."*

He further added, "I banged on the door and asked them to open it. When they did, I questioned why they were inside the mosquito net so late at night. Mostafa replied, ‘I came to collect money.’ I then asked why he needed to collect money inside a closed cowshed at that hour. This angered Hasina and Mostafa, and Hasina began behaving aggressively toward me. Later, I learned that Hasina Begum filed a complaint against us at the police station, accusing us of extortion and robbery. But we neither demanded any money nor took any."

On the other hand, Golam Mostafa said, *"Hasina Begum is my sister-in-law. A few days ago, she borrowed money from me to buy a cow and asked me to come to her house to collect it. After closing my shop at around 9 PM, I went there. While she was repaying the money, Shafiqul Islam and others started banging on the door. When I opened it, they began hurling obscene questions, harassing us, and spreading false allegations. They even took Tk 1 lakh that I had with me. In reality, they have long been demanding extortion money from me, which I refused to pay. This incident is a planned setup due to past enmity."*

Local witnesses said, "Around 10 PM, we went to Hasina Begum’s house with Shafiqul Islam. We heard voices inside and asked them to open the door. They claimed Mostafa had come to collect owed money."

A man named Kamal said, "Hearing noise, I went to Hasina’s house and saw her and Mostafa being brought out of the cowshed while arguing with Shafiqul Islam. I calmed everyone down and escorted Mostafa home."

Despite multiple attempts, Hasina Begum could not be reached for comment.

Homna Police Station SI Md. Nasir Uddin said, "Both parties have filed cross-complaints. We have called them in for questioning, and further details will emerge after investigation."
