In Teknaf, Smugglers Flee After Dumping 320,000 Yaba Pills

In an operation by the Coast Guard in Cox's Bazar's border upazila Teknaf, around 3.2 million Yaba pills worth approximately 16 crore taka have been seized. On Thursday (8 May) at 4:30 PM, Teknaf Media Officer Lt. Commander BN Harun-Or-Rashid reported that based on secret intelligence, a special operation was conducted at around 3:00 AM in the Habirchhara Marine Drive area under Teknaf Coast Guard Station. During the operation, two suspicious individuals were seen carrying sacks on their shoulders. When the Coast Guard team chased them and signaled them to stop, the suspects threw the sacks into a nearby betel leaf plantation and fled. Later, upon searching the sacks, 3.2 million Yaba pills worth 16 crore taka were recovered. Since the smugglers escaped, no arrests could be made. He further stated that legal procedures regarding the seized Yaba are underway.
