The 58th Memorial Ceremony of Hazrat Khaja Khan Jahan Ali Concludes in Keshabpur

The three-day 58th memorial ceremony of Hazrat Khaja Khan Jahan Ali concluded on Tuesday at the bank of the historic Khan Jahan Ali Dighi in Keshabpur.
On Monday (May 12, '25), at the bank of Khan Jahan Ali Dighi in Vidyanandakati/Mirzapur, Union No. 3 of Keshabpur, a vibrant yet serene program was held from evening until late night, featuring discussions on "Khan Jahan Ali," along with performances by artists and Baul singers.
Presided over by Humayun Kabir Palash, Chairman of Majidpur Union Parishad, and moderated by Nazrul Islam, Convener of Keshabpur Upazila Krishak Dal (BNP), the chief discussant was Hashem Ali Fakir, former Principal of Chuknagar Degree College, researcher, and social worker.
Organized by the devotees of Khan Jahan Ali under the initiative of Keshabpur Upazila Krishak Dal, with the guidance of caretakers Akram Ali and Abbas Ali Fakir, the cultural program was hosted by Abdul Latif Mridha and Mizanur Rahman.
Participants in the cultural program included SM Sirajul Islam, lyricist and vocal artist of Bangladesh Betar Khulna and Director of Keshabpur Lokjo Academy; Mizanur Rahman Mizan of Keshabpur Ektara Shilpigosthi; Nazrul Islam; Sagar Hossain; artist Nasir Uddin from Kaliganj, Satkhira; and Baul artist Rafiqul Islam, among others.
On the first day, Sunday, the program was inaugurated by Asaduzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Jessore Zila Parishad. The chief discussant was renowned playwright and versatile writer-poet Muhammad Shafi, while the special discussant was Fakir Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Nawapara Mohila College.
On the third day, Tuesday, the chief discussant was Ruhul Amin, retired Principal of Panjia Degree College.
Special guests included Babur Ali Goldar, Director of Panjia Samaj Kalyan Sangstha and President of Purbo Khelaghar Ashor; Motahar Hossain, General Secretary of Keshabpur Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee and senior journalist; senior journalist and poet Ibrahim Reza; radio artist, playwright, writer, and editor Bishwajit Ghosh; SM Korban Ali, Director of Mongolkot Seba Samaj Kalyan Sangstha; Jalal Uddin; journalist Poresh Debnath; Dr. Amjad Hossain, and others.
Legend has it that this pond was miraculously dug overnight, earning its name as Khan Jahan Ali Dighi through tradition. To this day, the pond stands as a testament to history.
