The biennial election of the Rajbari Press Club was held in a festive and peaceful environment. Kazi Abdul Kuddus Babu, the district correspondent of Bangla News 24 and Bangladesh's Khobor newspaper, was elected as the President, while Muhammad Shahidul Islam Hiru, the district correspondent of Manab Zamin newspaper, was elected as the General Secretary. The results were announced by Election Commissioner ATM Rafiq Uddin around 9 PM on Saturday (February 15) after the election concluded. The election for the positions of President and General Secretary of the Rajbari Press Club (2025-27) was held. Other positions, including Assistant Secretary and Finance Secretary, were uncontested as there were no other candidates. Kazi Abdul Kuddus Babu won the presidency with 9 votes, while his opponent Abu Musa Biswas received 6 votes.
On the other hand, Muhammad Shahidul Islam Hiru was elected as the General Secretary with 9 votes, while his opponent Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain received 6 votes. The other elected members include Vice Presidents Khondakar Abdul Matin, M Moniruzzaman, and Mrs. Kamrun Nahar; Assistant Secretaries Mohammad Jahangir Hossain and Mohammad Sajid Hossain; Finance Secretary Mohammad Matiur Rahman; Sports and Literature Secretary Abul Kalam Azad; Women's Secretary Mrs. Hafiza Khatun; and Executive Members Advocate Khan Mohammad Zahurul Haque, ATM Rafiq Uddin, Abu Musa Biswas, Mosharraf Hossain, M Delowar Hossain, Rimon Rahman, and Nurul Alam Siddiqui Haque.
The newly elected President, Kazi Abdul Kuddus Babu, and General Secretary, Muhammad Shahidul Islam Hiru, expressed gratitude to all members of the Press Club, stating that they were elected through a fair voting process. They expressed their desire to work collaboratively with all journalists in the district in the future.
