Daily Bijoy News, Homna Correspondent:
The people of Homna do politics at their own expense. The people of Homna-Titas will not accept any outsider. In the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, a call has been made to nominate a popular and dedicated local candidate for the Cumilla-2 (Homna-Titas) constituency. This call was given by BNP nomination aspirant, former Upazila Chairman, and former General Secretary of Homna Upazila BNP, Advocate Azizur Rahman Molla. He said that the popular candidate of the area should be nominated. No matter how big a leader an outsider is, the people of Homna-Titas will not accept it. He made these remarks on Tuesday (October 28) at 11 AM after offering prayers at the grave of the late MK Anwar and during a leaflet distribution event for BNP's 31-point agenda after a brief speech. He further said, "There are many BNP nomination aspirants in Homna and Titas Upazila. Whomever the party nominates from among the local candidates of Homna-Titas, we will accept it. But if a rented or outsider candidate is nominated, it will not be accepted."
At that time, more than five hundred leaders and activists were present, including former President of Homna Upazila BNP and former Upazila Chairman Zahirul Haque Jahar, BNP leaders Dulal Sarkar, Moktar Hossain, Mizanur Rahman, Mainuddin, Ruhul Islam Mani, Md. Kamruzzaman, and UP Chairman Jahangir Alam Molla.
Advocate Azizur Rahman Molla is the former VP nominated by the Homna Government College Student Union's Chhatra Dal, former General Secretary of Homna Upazila BNP, former Upazila Chairman, former UP Chairman, former Municipal Councillor, and former Headmaster. From this constituency, the veteran BNP leader and former minister, the late MK Anwar, was elected Member of Parliament five times. He served in multiple ministries and played an important role in the development and welfare of the area. Local people say that in continuation of the ideals and legacy left by MK Anwar, they want such a candidate to be nominated this time too, who is honest, dedicated, and connected with the local people. Advocate Azizur Rahman Molla, a BNP nomination aspirant, is working extensively in the area ahead of the election.
