A memorial meeting was held on the occasion of the seventh death anniversary of Shaheed Abu Bakar Abu, the former Vice-President of Jashore District BNP, veteran politician, popularly elected Chairman of Majidpur Union Parishad multiple times, and illustrious son of Bagdha village.

On Tuesday (18th November-25), that memorial meeting was organized in the afternoon at the auditorium of Keshabpur Government Pilot High School, on the initiative of the Coordination Council, demanding justice for the murder of the sharp politician Shaheed Abu Bakar Abu. In the memorial meeting, the speakers demanded the unveiling of the mystery behind the murder of former District BNP Vice-President and UP Chairman Abu Bakar Abu, the arrest of the culprits, and justice. Presided over by Member of Central BNP's Executive Committee and President of Upazila BNP, Alhaj Abul Hossain Azad, and conducted by Chief Coordinator of the Coordination Council and Organizational Secretary of Upazila BNP, Humayun Kabir Suman, the memorial meeting featured a speech by the chief guest, Amrendu Das Apu, Secretary for Religious Affairs of Central BNP.

Speeches as special guests were given by: Kazi Rawnkul Islam Shraban, Member of BNP's National Executive Committee, former President of Central Chhatra Dal, nominated candidate of the Sheaf of Paddy for Jashore-6 Keshabpur Parliamentary Constituency; Alhaj Abdus Samad Biswas, President of Keshabpur Municipal BNP and former Mayor; Professor Abdur Razzak, General Secretary of Upazila BNP; Sheikh Shahidul Islam Shahid, General Secretary of Keshabpur Municipal BNP; Mashiar Rahman, Vice-President of Upazila BNP and former Councilor; Professor Alauddin Ala, Chairman of Sadar Union Parishad; Humayun Kabir Palash, Chairman of Majidpur Union Parishad; Vice-Presidents Masuduzzaman Masud, Rezaul Islam; Master Makbul Hossain Mukul, Joint General Secretary of Upazila BNP; Kutubuddin Biswas, Senior Vice-President of Municipal BNP; Nuruzzaman Chowdhury, Organizational Secretary; and Sakibul Hasan, Joint Convener of Keshabpur Government Degree College Chhatra Dal.

Abu Bakar Abu had gone to Dhaka in November 2018 to seek nomination from BNP for the 11th National Parliament election. He was abducted from an area near a hotel in Pallabi of the capital. On November 19th, police recovered his body from the Buriganga River in the Telghat area under South Keraniganj Police Station and sent it to the morgue of Midford Hospital in Dhaka. A murder case was filed at South Keraniganj Police Station at that time. However, even after seven years, the mystery of this murder case has not been uncovered yet. The auditorium was filled to capacity with leaders and activists of the Juba Dal, Mahila Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, Sramik Dal, Krishak Dal, and Chhatra Dal from various unions of the upazila attending the memorial meeting.
