A women's rally and workers' meeting, organized by the Char Tarapur Union Women's Wing of Pabna Sadar Upazila, was held at the Daspara Mosque grounds on Thursday (November 20). A festive atmosphere was observed across the area surrounding the gathering, which lasted from the afternoon until evening.

Earlier in the day, at noon, a tree plantation program was held at the Dip Char Yunus Ali High School grounds, organized by the Pabna District BNP on the occasion of the birthday of BNP's Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman.

Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Bijoy, the special assistant to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the BNP-nominated candidate with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol for the Pabna-5 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, was present as the Chief Guest at the event.

Addressing the Daspara Women's Wing workers' meeting, Advocate Shimul Bijoy said, "Although six and a half lakh people died in the famine of 1974, the martyred President Ziaur Rahman, upon coming to power, showed Bangladesh the path to recovery. He presented the country anew to the world by creating employment for 2 crore people abroad, developing the garments and cottage industries, increasing food production, and establishing peace." He further stated, "Begum Khaleda Zia took the groundbreaking decision to make women's education free. And among the programs announced by Tarique Rahman are employment for 1 crore people, Family Cards under female guardianship, Health Cards for helpless people where the government will bear all medical expenses, and Farmer Cards for 1 crore farmers, through which the government will buy crops at fair prices." According to Shimul Bijoy, if these visionary programs are implemented, a new chapter of peace, welfare, and development will begin in the country.

Speaking as special guests at the rally were the founder President of the district BNP and educationist Professor Mahatab Uddin Bijoy, former President of Pabna Lawyers Association Adv. Mirza Azizur Rahman, and district BNP joint conveners Anisul Haque Babu and Abu Obaida Sheikh Tuhin. The meeting was conducted by the President of the district Women's Wing, Purnima Islam.

Speeches were also given by: Sadar Upazila BNP General Secretary Rehanul Islam Bulal, former Municipal BNP General Secretary Shahidul Islam Lalu, AKM Musa, former Councillor Farhad Joardar, Sujanagar Municipal BNP General Secretary Jasim Bijoy, former Char Tarapur UP Chairman Rahmat Ali Sheikh, district Women's Wing Senior Vice-President Hazari Lutfun Nahar, Joint General Secretary Shabnam Manjila Khanam Mita, Organizing Secretary Farhana Akter Naz, Sadar Upazila Women's Wing President Mohsina Khan Setu, and Municipal Women's Wing President Farzana Yasmin.

Presided over by Char Tarapur UP Women's Wing President and Reserved Member Reshma Khatun, the event was also attended by: Abul Ahsan Khan Rayn, Central General Secretary of the Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association; Zahurul Islam, Secretary of Pabna Press Club; district BNP members Sakuqbbar Hossain, Selim Sardar; Char Tarapur Union's Babul Bijoy; district Chhatra Dal Organizing Secretary Saddom Hossain; former President of Sadullapur Union Chhatra Dal, Rafiqul Islam; Juba Dal leader Md. Mamun; Char Tarapur UP Women's Wing General Secretary Morjina Khatun; along with several thousand men and women.

Earlier, after the tree plantation program at the Dip Char Yunus Ali High School field, a special prayer for Tarique Rahman and all leaders and workers was conducted by the school's Headmaster, Abul Bashar.
