Fire in Burichang due to short circuit; residential house burnt to ashes.

In Burichang Upazila of Comilla, a fire caused by an electrical short circuit completely burned down a residential house and a kitchen, along with valuable furniture. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on Thursday (27th November) in Arag Anandapur West Para of Sadar Pourashava. The affected person is Safiqul Islam, son of Nawab Mia.

Station Officer Zahirul Islam of Burichang Fire Service stated that the fire suddenly started from a short circuit and quickly spread throughout the house. The fire burned down the residential house, kitchen, two beds, a refrigerator, and various other furniture. The preliminary estimate of the loss is around 2–5 lakh Taka. However, with the help of locals, a unit of the Fire Service managed to save property worth approximately 15 lakh Taka from the fire.

Upon receiving news of the fire, Burichang Upazila Executive Officer Tanvir Hossain visited the scene. Also present at the time were Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Abu Nasir Munshi, UP Member Enamul Haque Masum, Upazila Krishak Dal Organizing Secretary Md. Manirul Islam, and other local leaders.
