College Teacher Killed by Tractor While Returning Home After Shopping

On Sunday (February 16), around 4:00 PM, a tragic accident occurred on the Jamalpur-Baliakandi road near the Akh Center adjacent to Jamalpur Bazar in the upazila. Following the incident, enraged locals set the tractor on fire. In Baliakandi, Rajbari, a college teacher named Hasibul Hasan Bulbul (50) was killed after being run over by a brick-laden tractor. The deceased, Hasibul Hasan Bulbul, was the son of Yusuf Sheikh from the village of Badhulikhalkula in Jamalpur Union. He was a lecturer at Jamalpur Degree College.

Local UP member Md. Mukul Sikdar stated that it was the weekly market day in Jamalpur Bazar. Around 4:00 PM, Hasibul Hasan Bulbul was returning home to Badhulikhalkula village on his motorcycle after shopping at the market. As he reached near the Akh Center, a brick-laden tractor from a local brickfield hit him from behind. He died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, Md. Jamal Uddin, the acting officer-in-charge (OC) of Baliakandi Police Station, said that upon receiving news of the college teacher's death, police were sent to the scene. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
