In Narail, a joint force operation seizes a large quantity of polythene and imposes a 50,000 taka fine. In Narail, a joint operation by the army and the district administration has again seized and destroyed a large quantity of banned polythene, rendering it unusable. Additionally, the accused businessman has been fined 50,000 taka by a mobile court. On Tuesday afternoon, the Narail Army Camp seized polythene worth approximately 4.5 lakh taka from a godown owned by Imran Hossain in the Burikhali, Chougachha area of Narail Sadar.
Ujjal Roy, District Correspondent from Narail, reports that sources indicate Imran Hossain had been illegally stockpiling banned polythene for a long time and supplying it to the retail market. During the joint operation by the army and the district administration, he himself admitted to the banned polythene business. Upon entering the locked room, a massive quantity of 2,500 kg of banned polythene was found, filling two rooms and packed in bags of various sizes.
Subsequently, the district administration's Executive Magistrate, Md. Badiuzzaman, conducted a mobile court on the spot and fined the accused 50,000 taka. The mobile court also ordered the banned polythene to be rendered unusable and handed over to the Department of Environment. Md. Badiuzzaman, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, stated that such operations by the Narail district administration will continue.
