In RAB operation in Teknaf, 33 thousand Yabas were arrested

Members of RAB-15 have recovered 33 thousand 400 pieces of Yaba by raiding Habirchhara area of Teknaf Sadar in Cox's Bazar. Three drug dealers were arrested. Those arrested are Rohingya citizen Kashim (20), son of Abdus Shukkur of Debing village, Chekkaim police station, Akyab district, Myanmar, Abdul Matlab (45), son of deceased Kalu Mia of Ward No. 1, Habir Rham village, Teknaf Sadar Union, Abdul Matlab (45), son of Md. Syedul Haque, son of Old Pallan Para, Ward No. 2, Teknaf Municipality. Ayash (19). Cox's Bazar RAB-15 Additional Superintendent of Police and Senior Assistant Director (Law & Media) Md. Abu Salam Chowdhury confirmed this information to the media.
He said that on Thursday (May 30) night, based on secret information, some drug dealers including narcotics are staying inside the house of one Abdul Matlab of Habir Rham area under Teknaf Sadar Union Ward No. 1 under Teknaf police station for the purpose of buying and selling. Based on such news, RAB-15, CPC-1 Teknaf camp raid team conducted anti-narcotics operation in the said area. At that time, when they realized the presence of RAB and tried to escape from the house, the raiding team was able to arrest three drug dealers including a Rohingya citizen from the neighboring country. According to the information received in the preliminary investigation, in front of the witnesses present, according to BB, after searching the body of the arrested and the said living room, 33 thousand 400 pieces of yaba, broken yaba 350 grams and 3 smart phones and 1 button phone were recovered from inside a white colored shopping bag under the bed of the bedroom.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested Kasim is a citizen of a neighboring country and a drug dealer. During interrogation, he said that he does not have FCN card or MRC card for living in Bangladesh and living in Rohingya camps. The interrogation also revealed that the arrested drug gang has been involved in drug dealing for a long time in collaboration with each other. Dhirta Kashim brought illegal drugs from neighboring countries to Bangladesh by carrying Yaba. Then he used to supply to his Bangladeshi drug trading agents Dhirt Abdul Matlab and Md Ayash. It is known that Abdul Matlab and Md. Ayash, who were arrested later, used to sell the drugs collected from the neighboring countries to drug dealers and drug users in the local area and supply Yaba to various places in Cox's Bazar. He also said that the recovered drugs have been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station to take necessary legal action against the arrested drug dealers.
